Villanova’s Associate Head Coach Will Lead Terriers Men’s Basketball
Patrick Chambers brings winning ways to BU

Villanova associate head coach Patrick Chambers has been named head coach of the Boston University men’s basketball program.
In the past five years, under the guidance of 2009 Big East Coach of the Year Jay Wright and Chambers, Villanova’s Wildcats have earned a 126-45 record, including a 2008-2009 record of 30-8. The team advanced to the NCAA tournament all five years that Chambers was on staff.
In the last five NCAA tournaments, the Wildcats went 11-5. The team has won at least 22 games each of the last five seasons, and its 2009 senior class set a school record for career victories. At BU, Chambers will lead a team that finished 17-13 and will return largely intact next year.
Chambers graduated from Philadelphia University with a degree in marketing and joined the Villanova staff in 2004 as the director of basketball operations. He became an assistant coach — responsible for recruiting, player development and teaching — in 2005, and was named associate head coach last June.
Chambers was previously the top varsity assistant coach for five years at Episcopal Academy in Merion Station, Pa. He also coached one year at Delaware Valley College.
