He started off in the Department of History of Art &#038; Architecture (what was then the Department of Art History) and then joined Archaeology at the request of James Wiseman, founder of the Department of Archaeology and Chair at the time. Michael&#8217;s title was Lab Coordinator and Photographer but he wore many hats.
