Current Projects

At the BU Aphasia research lab, currently working with Dr. Sofia Vallila-Rohter on the Animal Category Study. This experiment looks at how patients with Aphasia learn, knowledge of which will help develop more effective future treatments.

Wellesley College Senior Honors Thesis Project: The linguistic mechanisms of humor in gendered situations

Past Projects

2013 – Worked at the Wellesley College Speech and Language Lab with Professor Angela Carpenter. Project:  Comparison of rhythm of Jamaican Creole speech and Jamaican reggae music.  Using the Normalized Pairwise Variability Index to compare relative durations of music notes with durations on vowels in speech.

2013 – Worked at the Social Cognitive Neuroscience Lab in the MIT Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences. Project: Under PI Rebecca Saxe, worked with Dr. Hyo Gweon on a project that investigated children’s perception of teaching and learning.

2012 – Worked under Wellesley College Professor Andrea Levitt. Project: The social appropriateness of sarcasm. Investigated the use and perceived social appropriateness of sarcasm between older and younger demographics.
