She is also the Communications &amp; Outreach Associate for the Global Economic Governance Initiative (GEGI) at the Boston University Global Development Policy Center, where she works on implementing strategic communications for GEGI research and a global task force working to advance a development-centered approach to climate change at the International Monetary Fund. She has always been interested in how stories are told &#8211; in politics to bend public opinion and in museums to shape narratives of the past &#8211; and how they reflect and reinforce power structures, political divisions, social anxieties and fears, and more.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Previously, Sam worked as social media manager and speechwriter for the Comptroller of Maryland as well as communications director for Maryland State Senator Mary Washington.
