Her dissertation research is focused on studying experiences of care\u00a0<\/span><span data-markjs=\"true\" class=\"markgke6qbqcv\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">an<\/span><span>d mental illness outside of clinical spaces in M\u0101le, Maldives.\u00a0<\/span><span data-markjs=\"true\" class=\"markgke6qbqcv\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">An<\/span><span>u is interested in highlighting the subjective\u00a0<\/span><span data-markjs=\"true\" class=\"markgke6qbqcv\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">an<\/span><span>d affective lives of specific persons as well as the broader social, political,\u00a0<\/span><span data-markjs=\"true\" class=\"markgke6qbqcv\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">an<\/span><span>d economic transformations that shape these individual lives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Before joining Boston University in 2017,\u00a0<\/span><span data-markjs=\"true\" class=\"markgke6qbqcv\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">An<\/span><span>u attended UWC Red Cross Nordic in Flekke, Norway (2010-2012)\u00a0<\/span><span data-markjs=\"true\" class=\"markgke6qbqcv\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">an<\/span><span>d then served a year in the Red Cross\u00a0<\/span><span data-markjs=\"true\" class=\"markgke6qbqcv\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">an<\/span><span>d Red Crescent Society of the Maldives.\u00a0<\/span><span data-markjs=\"true\" class=\"markgke6qbqcv\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">An<\/span><span>u holds a B.A. (Honors) in\u00a0<\/span><span data-markjs=\"true\" class=\"markgke6qbqcv\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">An<\/span><span>thropology from Bates College (2013-2017) where she was a Davis UWC Scholar.
