{"id":35,"date":"2009-09-01T17:34:13","date_gmt":"2009-09-01T21:34:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/anderssonlab\/?p=35"},"modified":"2009-10-22T17:34:26","modified_gmt":"2009-10-22T21:34:26","slug":"andersson-is-co-pi-on-nsf-grant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/anderssonlab\/2009\/09\/01\/andersson-is-co-pi-on-nsf-grant\/","title":{"rendered":"Andersson is co-PI on NSF grant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Professor Andersson is a co-PI on a two year grant from the National Science Foundation for the project <span class=\"pageheadline\"> <span class=\"pageheadline\"><strong>NUE: Undergraduate Laboratory Experiences in Nanotechnology devices and Systems (U-LENS.<\/strong><\/span><\/span> The PI is Professor <a href=\"http:\/\/ultra.bu.edu\/peoplebio.asp?member=Anna%20K.%20Swan\" target=\"_blank\">Anna Swan<\/a> (BU-ECE) and co-PIs are Professors <a href=\"http:\/\/people.bu.edu\/altug\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hatice Altug<\/a> (BU-ECE), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/me\/people\/faculty\/pz\/porter\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tyrone Porter<\/a> (BU-ME), and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/dbin\/bme\/people\/primary\/smithm.php\" target=\"_blank\">Michael Smith<\/a> (BU-BME).<\/p>\n<p>This project will develop and implement lab modules in two nanotechnology undergraduate junior level courses (&#8220;Nanophotonics Devices Laboratory&#8221; and Nanometer-Scale Processes in Living Systems&#8221;) that will be part of the BU College of Engineering new &#8220;Concentration in Nanotechnology&#8221; open to all undergraduate students in the college.<\/p>\n<p>The lab courses will strengthen the experiential learning for engineering undergraduates in the Concentration and also serve as a gateway into further research with faculty and startup companies in nanotechnology areas.
