She is particularly interested in how black history is conveyed on television and television as a pedagogical tool for dominant black culture.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Before starting the Ph.D. program, Lindsay earned an M.F.A. in Film and Television Studies from Boston University. Her thesis, titled \u201cTo Be Young, Gifted, and Black: A Melodramatic Saga,\u201d was a textual analysis of three black musical miniseries.
