Peterson received a Bachelor\u2019s in History from the University from New Hampshire and a Master\u2019s in Ethnomusicology from The University of Washington. Utilizing a performative and spatial framework, Graham\u2019s research situates the music of The Grateful Dead, the Band, and their fans in the context of a burgeoning liberal American nationalism characterized by an escapist rural fantasy. Graham\u2019s dissertation is entitled, Growing an Americana Movement: Resistance, Roots, and Restless Masculinity After the Folk Revival.
