American Studies for the Future Lecture Series<\/a><\/h2>\n

American Studies for the Future Lecture Series is presented by the American Studies Program at Boston University. <\/span>\u00a0The next event is a K<\/span>eynote Lecture by\u00a0Koritha Mitchell\u00a0<\/a>on\u00a0April 29, 2026<\/strong>, at 4pm. She will give a reading from her current project,\u00a0Blissfully Childfree: A Memoir in Letters<\/em>. This event will take place in Room 426, 213 Bay State Road, BU Hillel (4th floor). \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Following Prof. Mitchell\u2019s lecture, all attendees of this event are invited to the American Studies end-of-year reception in 226 Bay State Road, Room B06.<\/span><\/p>\n

Robert Pinsky & Dan Chiasson in Conversation about New Books<\/span><\/a><\/h2>\n

Come celebrate the publication of Dan Chiasson\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>Bernie for Burlington\u00a0<\/span><\/i>(Knopf, 2026) and Robert Pinsky\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>On Poetry, Culture, and Democracy\u00a0<\/span><\/i>and\u00a0<\/span>The First Two Books of Poems\u00a0<\/span><\/i>(Princeton University Press, 2026). A reception and book signing will follow the event which will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2026.<\/p>\n

Sponsored by the American Studies Program at BU, the Americanist Forum functions like a conference panel\/symposium, with multiple speakers delivering papers during a given session. Each semester, there is an open call for papers for BU students in the humanities (graduate students or advanced undergraduates).<\/span><\/p>\n
