Professor William Moore awarded the Gary Land Research Fellowship

We are pleased to announce that American Studies Professor William Moore has been awarded the Gary Land Research Fellowship by the Center for Adventist Research located at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan.

This fellowship will allow Moore to travel to the center over the summer to work in their collections in support of his latest book project on American camp meetings. In particular, the fellowship will support research on twentieth-century Seventh Day Adventist camp meetings in the American Midwest. These temporary annual gatherings, located in every state, drew tens of thousands of participants who expected the imminent return of Christ in the middle decades of the last century but have not received any scholarly attention.
