{"id":10744,"date":"2019-09-17T13:32:27","date_gmt":"2019-09-17T17:32:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/alzresearch\/?post_type=profile&#038;p=10744"},"modified":"2022-06-10T09:26:35","modified_gmt":"2022-06-10T13:26:35","slug":"gyungah-jun-ph-d","status":"publish","type":"profile","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/alzresearch\/profile\/gyungah-jun-ph-d\/","title":{"rendered":"Gyungah Jun"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><b><span lang=\"EN\"><span>Research Interests<\/span><\/span><\/b><span lang=\"EN\"><\/span><\/div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN\"><span>Dr. Jun has worked in a broad spectrum of medical fields including wet-lab-based research including purification and characterization of a B-lymphocyte inducing factor (BIF) using single-cell cloning of human myeloma cell line and mouse models and establishment of human neuronal cell lines, and dry-lab (computational) researches including the development of DNA pattern recognition program, investigation of loci involved in the progression of type 2 diabetes, genome-wide linkage and association analyses for druse formation, age-related macular degeneration, cataract, and diabetic nephropathy using worldwide longitudinal cohorts, and identification of causal variants in an axon guidance molecule for age-related cortical cataract using targeted sequencing projects. She has also been involved in large genetics consortiums for diabetic nephropathy, age-related macular degeneration, age-related cataract, and Alzheimer\u2019s disease.
