{"id":5106,"date":"2014-07-07T10:59:36","date_gmt":"2014-07-07T14:59:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/alzresearch\/?page_id=5106"},"modified":"2026-07-10T05:14:15","modified_gmt":"2026-07-10T09:14:15","slug":"professional-training","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/alzresearch\/research\/professional-training\/","title":{"rendered":"Student Ambassador Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"_04xlpA direction-ltr align-start para-style-heading2\"><span class=\"JsGRdQ\">The Boston University Alzheimer\u2019s Disease Research Center Student Ambassador Program<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span>is a peer education and outreach program that enlists a diverse group of <strong>undergraduates and graduates<\/strong> to support the center\u2019s efforts to increase outreach and recruitment in the Boston community, through community memory screenings and outreach events. We are opening up the program to all local Boston students, both graduates and undergraduates.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"_04xlpA direction-ltr align-start para-style-heading2\"><span class=\"JsGRdQ\">The primary aim of the BU ADRC Ambassador program are to (1) educate students about AD and related cognitive impairments; (2) improve students\u2019 communication skills with elders and cognitively impaired individuals; (3) educate students about culturally diverse communities, and lastly (4) recruit participants for clinical trials and studies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"_04xlpA direction-ltr align-start para-style-heading2\"><span class=\"JsGRdQ\">The Ambassador Program provides excellent exposure to neurology, geriatrics, neuropsychiatry, and neuropsychology. Student participants are also invited to optional seminars, clinic visits, and other learning opportunities supported by the BU Alzheimer\u2019s Disease Research Center. Upon successful completion of the program, students receive a letter of recommendation for their medical school or graduate school file from the Director of the BU ADRC.<\/span><span class=\"JsGRdQ white-space-prewrap\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The application is now <strong>OPEN<\/strong>!
