The annual Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy is designed to encourage collaboration and promote scientific thought among faculty and researchers from a wide range of disciplines across all Alzheimer\u2019s Disease Research Centers. Mark your calendar for the BU ADRC CTE Conference 2022, when we will host a diverse array of AD and CTE presenters as well as networking opportunities. This virtual course will feature an opportunity for all of our participants to learn about all aspects of CTE, including its pathology, pathophysiology, genetics, biomarkers, imaging, clinical syndromes, clinical criteria, differential diagnosis, impact on veterans, implications for the family and, what it is like to live with or worry about the disease.<\/span><\/p>\n

The BU Alzheimer\u2019s Disease Research Center is now accepting abstracts for the 2023 CTE Conference poster session. The call for posters is open to students of all levels, trainees, researchers, and faculty who are involved in research related to Alzheimer\u2019s disease, dementia, aging, and related topics. <\/span><\/span>For more information please email Samrana Bertrand at\u00a0sbertran@bu.edu<\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE)<\/a> is a progressive degenerative disease of the brain found in athletes (and others) with a history of repetitive brain trauma, including symptomatic concussions as well as asymptomatic subconcussive hits to the head. Brain degeneration is associated with memory loss, confusion, impaired judgment, impulse control problems, aggression, depression, and, eventually, progressive dementia.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
