On Sunday, May 22, among their fellow classmates and President Brown, Jasmine Mijares (Questrom’23), Dumebi Onogwu (CAS’23), and Christian Hahm (Sargent’23) presented this year’s Class Gift<\/a>. With overwhelming joy, the Co-Chairs shared their class’ support to the numerous organizations and funds on campus, including the Newbury Center<\/a> and BU Women\u2019s Guild<\/a>. They encouraged their fellow Terriers to remember each of the clubs, organizations, sports teams, affinity groups, resources, and scholarships that played a role in their college experience\u2014and to continue paying it forward. <\/p>\n

Throughout the course of the year, the Class of 2023 raised a total of $3,784 for student clubs and organizations<\/strong> like the Undergraduate Philosophy Association, The Dear Abbeys, and the Mars Rover Club. $2,050 for the Office of Diversity and Inclusion<\/strong>, which provides leadership, vision, and management for initiatives that promote diversity and inclusion across BU\u2019s three campuses. With 272 gifts, the graduates also raised $2,253 for student scholarships<\/strong>\u2014helping to keep BU accessible to all. And 222 gifts totaling $1,424 for the Center for Antiracist Research<\/strong> to continue building an antiracist society. <\/p>\n

This year’s Class Gift goal was to reach a total of 2,023 donors\u2014an homage to their forthcoming graduation year of 2023. The graduates didn’t merely accomplish their objective; they soared triumphantly past it\u2014showcasing their ability to come together as one in the spirit of philanthropy.<\/p>\n

Despite not having a specific monetary target, the Class of 2023 achieved an impressive sum. Through their combined endeavors, they successfully raised an impressive $50,460\u2014a whopping 59% increased compared to the previous year’s Class Gift.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
