The Student Philanthropy Center is home to the BU Telefund program. BU Telefund provides student callers the opportunity to learn about the importance of philanthropy, alumni engagement, and how they can inspire others in the BU community to give back.<\/p>\n

The engagement center’s mission is the following:<\/p>\n

  1. Increase annual giving participation from the alumni, parents, and friends of BU.<\/li>\n
  2. Foster a stronger relationship between current students and the greater BU community.<\/li>\n
  3. Collect updated contact information and alumni engagement preferences.<\/li>\n

    Please email telefund@bu.edu<\/a> and let us know what dates and times would work for a call. We would be happy to schedule a call with one of our callers at a time that is more convenient for you.<\/p>\n

    Anyone in the BU community can update their information on the Alumni & Friends page<\/a>. You can also email telefund@bu.edu<\/a> with any updates.<\/p>\n

    I receive a lot of spam calls. How do I know that this call is coming from BU?<\/h4>

    BU Telefund calls are made from the Student Philanthropy Center on campus. Our phone number is (617) 353-8761. We encourage you to add this number to your contact list on your phone. This is the best way to ensure that you do not miss our next call.<\/p>\n

    I am a bit nervous about making a gift over the phone. Is it safe?<\/h4>
    <\/p>\n

    Our office is PCI compliant, which means that we follow the highest level of security standards set by the Payment Card Industry. Telefund students are trained to process credit card gifts in a safe and secure manner, and the process only takes a few minutes. Credit card gifts are the best way to ensure that your gift makes an impact in the shortest amount of time, and they allow our office to conserve valuable resources.<\/p>\n
