Demir Sabancı (CAS’93) is the founder, chairman, and president of Sedes Holding, A.S., a real estate and retail company based in Turkey. At first, he says, the pandemic had “devastating effects” on the company’s properties and physical stores, but over time there were positives as well: online sales quadrupled, and tenants appreciated the safety upgrades and renovations in the properties. His advice to others in the field? “Stay flexible and agile,” he says. “Don’t be afraid to act and make mistakes. But be sure to learn from them, so that in the next round, you will be sure to do even better.”
