The BU community spends 24 extraordinary hours on #BUGiving Day showing the world what we can do when we join together in name of philanthropy and Boston University pride! We’ve rounded up different ways you can get Rhetty (see what we did there?) for the big day on April 8, 2026!
Add a reminder
Add a reminder on your phone or calendar so you don’t miss out on all the extra bonus money your favorite BU cause can receive from your donation!
Become a Giving Day advocate
Motivate friends and family to donate to the BU cause that makes you Proud to BU. You’ll be given a custom link and ample resources to show your BU spirit throughout the day.

Post pictures in BU gear
Dust off that old sweater or weathered hat, we want to see your school spirit! Post a picture on your social channels with the hashtag #BUGivingDay to show your support and BU pride. Don’t forget to tag us at @bualumni!
Participate in challenges
From “young alumni power hours” to school/college-specific challenges, there are pelnty of ways your donation can make a bigger impact on Giving Day. We’ll be updating the Giving Day website with the hourly challenges throughout the next few weeks, so don’t forget to look at it periodically to strategize accordingly.
Catch up with an old friend
What’s your freshman roommate up to? How is that one friend from your favorite class or club doing? Schedule a coffee meetup (or a virtual hang!) with your fellow Terrier alum to reminisce on the good time you had at BU. Moved to a new city? Connect with one of our Regional Networks and we’ll help you get in touch with alumni near you.

Put your DJ skills to the test and curate a playlist that captures the spirit of BU. You can even challenge friends to add their favorite BU-themed songs so you have an inspirational soundtrack to listen on Giving Day. Don’t know where to start? Volunteer with BU
Even if you’re miles away from Boston, BU is always at your fingertips. Celebrate BU’s history of volunteering with us by signing up to a Global Days of Service site near you or volunteering at your favorite organization during the month of April.
