AJLM is currently soliciting papers for inclusion in Volume 51, Issue 2 to be published in Summer 2025. Interested authors may reference the journal’s editorial scope on the home page<\/a> and find submission information on the present page.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Publication Schedule<\/h2>\n

The American Journal of Law & Medicine<\/em> publishes three times per year: one issue in the spring, a double symposium issue in the summer, and one issue in the winter. The journal accepts submissions for spring and winter issues on a rolling basis but prioritizes articles submitted February-April and August-October.<\/p>\n

How to Submit to AJLM<\/h2>\n

Authors interested in publishing in AJLM may submit articles through Scholastica.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

E-mail submissions will not<\/strong> be accepted.<\/p>\n

\"Submit<\/a><\/div>\n

Submissions should include the following materials:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • an anonymized manuscript in Word format;<\/li>\n
  • an abstract no longer than one page;<\/li>\n
  • an author resume or CV; and<\/li>\n
  • author contact information.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Manuscript Requirements<\/h3>\n

    Articles should range between approximately 15-40 pages in length, including footnotes. Footnotes must be numbered consecutively and single-spaced. All article text and footnotes should conform to The Bluebook<\/em> (22nd ed.).<\/p>\n

    Any illustrations, tables, graphs and charts must be numbered and given suitable legends. Authors must indicate in the manuscript the appropriate positions of such graphics. Authors will be expected to provide either suitable disk graphics files or camera-ready copy.<\/p>\n

    Peer Review Process<\/h3>\n

    Prior to acceptance for publication, manuscripts will be reviewed by AJLM\u2019s editorial board and peer reviewers possessing expertise related to an article\u2019s subject matter. The editorial board retains discretion in choosing what manuscripts are ultimately selected for publication.<\/p>\n

    Selection and Editing Timeframes<\/h2>\n

    Upon receipt of a manuscript, the editors will send a letter of acknowledgment. Authors will be notified of manuscript decisions within approximately five to seven weeks of receipt, depending on the length of the manuscript. Upon acceptance, the editorial board will inform the author of the estimated publication timeline.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
