{"id":21068,"date":"2022-01-31T13:30:03","date_gmt":"2022-01-31T18:30:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/africa\/?post_type=profile&#038;p=21068"},"modified":"2022-01-31T13:30:03","modified_gmt":"2022-01-31T18:30:03","slug":"chris-walsh","status":"publish","type":"profile","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/africa\/profile\/chris-walsh\/","title":{"rendered":"Chris Walsh"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Since joining the Writing Program in 2002, Chris Walsh has taught a variety of WR courses, including \u201cAfrica and the West,\u201d \u201cRotten English: the Vernacular in World Literature,\u201d and \u201cThe Theater Now.\u201d This year he\u2019s teaching \u201cLiving the American Revolution\u201d using the intellectually intensive role-playing pedagogy known as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/reacting.barnard.edu\/\">Reacting to the Past<\/a>.\u00a0He has also taught writing and literature courses at Emerson College, Harvard University, and as a Fulbright scholar at the University of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. His writing about American, English, and African Literature as well as about West Africa, where he lived for several years, has appeared in\u00a0<em>Agni<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Artsfuse.org<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Civil War History<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Essays in Criticism<\/em>,\u00a0<em>The Los Angeles Review of Books<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Raritan<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Salon<\/em>, and\u00a0<em>the Yale Review<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Walsh\u2019s book\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/press.princeton.edu\/titles\/10318.html\">Cowardice: A Brief History<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>was published in fall 2014 by Princeton University Press and won the\u00a0Bronze Medal of the Independent Publisher Book Awards, World History.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":15206,"template":"","_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/africa\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/profile\/21068"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/africa\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/profile"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/africa\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/profile"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/africa\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/15206"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/africa\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/profile\/21068\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":21070,"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/africa\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/profile\/21068\/revisions\/21070"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/africa\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=21068"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
