Her research and teaching interests broadly include urban politics and policy, racial and ethnic politics, and American public policy. She is the Assistant Director of Research at Boston University&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/antiracism-center\/\">Center for Antiracist Research<\/a>. She serves on the editorial board of the <em>American Journal of Political Science <\/em>and\u00a0<em>Urban Affairs Review<\/em><em>,<\/em>\u00a0and is a faculty affiliate of Boston University\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/ioc\/\">Initiative on Cities<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/hic\/\">Hariri Institute for Computing and Computation Science &amp; Engineering<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/afam\/\">Program in African American &amp; Black Diaspora Studies<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Her first book\u00a0<em>Do Facts Matter? Information and Misinformation in Democratic Politics\u00a0<\/em>(with Jennifer Hochschild, University of Oklahoma Press, 2015) explores the harmful effects of misinformation on democratic politics. Her second book\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.politicsofhousing.com\">Neighborhood Defenders: Participatory Politics and America&#8217;s Housing Crisis<\/a><em>\u00a0<\/em>(with David Glick and Maxwell Palmer, Cambridge University Press, Forthcoming) investigates the politics of housing.\u00a0She is currently co-principal investigator of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.surveyofmayors.com\">Menino Survey of Mayors<\/a>, a multi-year survey of U.S. mayors exploring a wide spectrum of political and policy issues.\u00a0Her work has been published in a variety of outlets, including the\u00a0<em>American Journal of Political Science,\u00a0British Journal of Political Science, Perspectives on Politics,\u00a0Political Behavior, Political Science Quarterly,\u00a0<\/em>and<em>\u00a0Urban Affairs Review<\/em>.
