Her latest book,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.upress.umn.edu\/book-division\/books\/blackness-in-morocco\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Blackness in Morocco: Gnawa Identity through Music and Visual Culture<\/em><\/a>, was published by the University of MN Press in November 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>A recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/articles\/2022\/faculty-promotions-charles-river-campus\">BU Today article<\/a> celebrates the promotion of 20 Charles River Campus faculty members to the rank of full professor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Congratulations to Professor Cynthia Becker, an affiliated faculty member of BU African American Studies, on her promotion to full professor!
