Upcoming Event: Black2BU Student & Alumni Reception
Join us Friday, September 30th at 4-6 PM for the second-annual Black2BU event! Come mingle with current students & alumni and enjoy Nigerian food.
We will have live performances of Caribbean music by Baba Ngida Band led by Professor Michael Birenbaum Quintero and Dzidzor.
Dzidzor (Jee-Jaw) is Ga-Ewe folklore performing artist, community archivist, and curator. Dzidzor’s style of call and response has combined traditional storytelling in Afro-folklore and Poetry through a sonic collage experience. She is moved by the question posed by Octavia E. Butler, “What do we need to do now, to create the future that we want?” and explores the answer through her work as a performer and organizing events like Black Cotton Club and much more.
Food will be catered by Obosa Restaurant, which serves authentic Nigerian dishes made with delicately infused Nigerian spices.
