Congratulations to Gina Physic and Sheneese Thompson, our newest AFAM MA graduates! AFAM Director, John Thornton commended the accomplishments of the current graduates and keynote speaker, The Honorable Leslie Harris (GRS’74) spoke about the importance of Black Studies programs and also commended the high level of scholarship achieved by the MA Program graduates. Dr. Mary Ann Boelcskevy presented the AFAM Alumni and Friends Essay to graduate student, Alexandra Gold(’18). Genithia Hogges (GRS’13) opened and closed the proceedings with the vocal performances, “To Be Young Gifted, and Black” and “Lift Every Voice and Sing” at the ceremony.
