Each Undergraduate Pathways Programs mentorship opportunity is a little different, with varying time commitments across programs. Mentoring is open to Boston University\u2019s full time faculty and exempt staff members. Please review these opportunities and indicate your interest on the application below.

Boston Community Leaders Program<\/h3>

\nMentor 2-4 Boston Community Leaders Scholars throughout the duration of their undergraduate career. This includes serving as a resource and support, in addition to guiding students through experiential learning opportunities unique to these students. Mentors are asked to maintain monthly contact with their mentees. Total time commitment: Approximately 6-8 hours per semester. <\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Chicago Scholars<\/h3>

\nAdvise 3-8 Chicago Scholars about academic resources, academic requirements, campus initiatives, and leadership opportunities with scheduled touch points. Meet with Scholars individually twice per semester and as a group once per semester. Total time commitment: Approximately 11 hours per semester. <\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n

Community College Scholars<\/h3>

\nBoston University awards the full-tuition, renewable Bunker Hill, Massachusetts Bay, and Roxbury Community Colleges Scholarships for selected transfer applicants. Mentors work with up to three Community College Scholars throughout the duration of their undergraduate career. This includes serving as a source of support and connecting students to on-campus resources. Mentors are asked to maintain monthly contact with their mentees. Total time commitment: Approximately 6-10 hours per semester. <\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Davis United World College Scholars<\/h3>

\nThe faculty mentor for the Davis Scholars will work with a cohort of 8-10 scholars, from matriculation until graduation. The Davis Mentor meets with the full cohort of students three times per semester, and\u00a0<\/span><\/span>one-on-one with students on an as-needed basis. Like the other Pathways mentors, the Davis mentor provides their scholars with holistic support<\/span>, high-quality academic counseling, and connections to research pathways. Mentors are encouraged to cultivate relationships with their cohort\u00a0<\/span><\/span>that provide the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>students with<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>a feeling of home away from home.<\/span><\/span> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/span>

Hayden Scholars<\/h3>

\nMentor 3-8 scholars throughout the duration of their undergraduate career to support them in reaching their full potential at BU. Meet with each scholar individually once a month, and meet as a group once per semester. Counsel students about their high school-to-college transition and connect them with resources on campus. Mentors participate in a half-day summer training session prior to their mentees\u2019 matriculation at BU. Total time commitment: Approximately 6-17 hours per semester. <\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Idea Scholars<\/h3>

\nMentors meet with 5-10 scholars individually two or three times per semester. Mentors will also gather the cohort for a group meeting or event once per semester. With the support of the Associate Director of the Undergraduate Pathways Programs, the mentor guides and monitors IDEA alumni to use the academic, financial, extracurricular, career, and health support systems available on campus. Total time commitment: Approximately 12-20 hours per semester. <\/div>\n<\/div>\n

IMPACT Scholars<\/h3>

\nMentors meet with 5-10 scholars individually two to three times per semester, and as a group once per semester. Mentors also provide feedback on scholars\u2019 transition, engagement, and academic progress. Total time commitment: Approximately 12-20 hours per semester. <\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Philadelphia Scholars<\/h3>

\nMentors meet with 3-6 scholars individually two to three times per semester, and as a group once per semester. Mentors also provide feedback on scholars\u2019 transition, engagement, and academic progress. Total time commitment: Approximately 7-12 hours per semester. <\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n

Posse Scholars<\/h3>

\nEach mentor meets weekly with the posse of 10 Scholars as a team and with each Scholar individually every two weeks during the first two years in college. Mentors have regular contact with the Posse city office and participate in Posse-run meetings and events. Total time commitment: Approximately 8 hours per week. <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n
