Awesome!—I was admitted… Now what?

January may seem far away, but there’s still a lot to do after being admitted. Below are important next steps for you to take before then.

April 2017

RSVP and attend the April 8 or 14 Open Houses on campus (sign up using the Applicant Link)
RSVP and attend an off-campus Class of 2021 reception in your area (sign up using the Applicant Link)
If you can’t make it to an Open House or off-campus reception, you can schedule a visit to the College of General Studies
Join the BU Class of 2021 Facebook Group and the CGS Facebook group

May 2017

Submit your $650 enrollment deposit by May 1, 2017
Accept your Financial Assistance Award (if applicable)
Create your BU email account (watch for an email with instructions)
Submit your BU Alert contact information on the Student Link
Discuss your admission with a CGS academic advisor (don’t worry, they will contact you)

Summer 2017

Attend a University Orientation Session in June
Stay in contact with your CGS academic advisor to discuss your fall plans (taking courses, traveling, working, etc.)
Submit your health form and Certificate of Immunization (Student Health Services will send you more information via email)
Ask your school to send a final transcript showing proof of your graduation
Submit your International Baccalaureate scores (if applicable)
Submit your Advanced Placement scores (if applicable)
International students: schedule a visa appointment at a US embassy

Fall 2017

Register for classes with the help of your CGS academic advisor
Submit your New Student Housing Application (watch for an email with instructions)

January 2018

Complete the AlcoholEdu for College® online course before you move on campus
Connect with your classmates and faculty at winter welcome events
Move into your dorm room

Find clubs and activities to join through the Student Activities Office

Start classes on January 18, 2018
Take the T to explore the city of Boston
