The curriculum covers\u00a0the essentials of lean production, global supply chain coordination, risk mitigation, strategic logistics management, and import-export operations. As a graduate of the program, you will be able to analyze and improve business process flows and become a confident decision-maker who will lead change and offer creative solutions that ensure prompt delivery of goods and services in an ever-changing global environment. <\/p>\n<p>Students who complete the master\u2019s degree in Supply Chain Management will be able to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrate the ability to use interlinked data inputs, analytics, and systems to support decision-making in a supply chain that is geographically dispersed and culturally diverse.<\/li>\n<li>Utilize financial statements and apply a systematic process-oriented approach to evaluating quality in manufacturing and service supply chains using statistical calculations.<\/li>\n<li>Apply statistical methods to supply chain problems such as demand forecasting, quality control, risk analysis, safety stock calculations, and inventory aggregation.<\/li>\n<li>Apply analytical methods to supply chain problems such as inventory optimization, stochastic inventory models, facility location optimization, capacity analysis, queuing theory, and delivery optimization.<\/li>\n<li>Utilize mathematical modeling and optimization theory by choosing the appropriate quantitative tools to support supply chain operations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Master of Science in Supply Chain Management includes optional concentrations in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/adminsc\/programs\/supply-chain-management\/program-overview\/ms-supply-chain-management-analytics\/\">Analytics<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/adminsc\/programs\/supply-chain-management\/program-overview\/ms-supply-chain-management-logistics-management\/\">Logistics Management<\/a>, or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/adminsc\/programs\/supply-chain-management\/program-overview\/ms-supply-chain-management-risk-management\/\">Risk Management<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lean Six Sigma<\/strong><br \/>\nOur curriculum embeds a significant portion of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sixsigmacouncil.org\/six-sigma-definition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Six Sigma Methodology<\/a>, making it excellent preparation for you to improve organizational performance, and do away with challenges that affect consumer loyalty. With a Lean Six Sigma certification, you can increase productivity and decrease costs resulting in delivering top quality products and services to consumers in a limited amount of time. Therefore, Lean Six Sigma certified individuals are in high demand in the job market.<\/p>\n<p>Successfully complete Quality Management (MET AD 734) and you may qualify to earn a Six Sigma Green Belt accredited by the Council for Six Sigma Certification. By also completing Operations and Process Analysis (MET AD 519) you are eligible to earn a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. A Six Sigma certificate can help you increase productivity and decrease costs, enhancing your ability to deliver top-quality products and services to consumers in a limited amount of time.
