Can I choose elective courses outside of the Administrative Sciences department?<\/h2>

\nYes, you can. Electives can be any 4-credit graduate course offered at Metropolitan College or other Boston University schools and colleges, with an advisor\u2019s approval. We strongly encourage you to discuss your elective courses with your advisors before registering.

Can on-campus students take any online courses?<\/h2>
<\/p>\n

Only in the summer, but still based on the discretion of your advisors\u2014please see Professor Lee or Professor Goncalves if you would like to take an online course. Here are some facts about online courses:<\/p>\n

Online courses have seven-week schedules\u2014taking them in the fall or spring makes it almost impossible to do well in other courses. Also, online courses are designed for part-time working students who take one course only\u2014 they require a lot of reading and independent work; they are not offered with many lectures. If you can do this type of work, you can take an online course in the summer (but only one course at a time).

Are there opportunities to engage in marketing research?<\/h2>
<\/p>\n

Yes, research projects are generally completed over the course of one or two semesters, in the form of a graduate assistantship. The position depends on the individual faculty member\u2019s needs. Contact faculty members directly regarding this opportunity.

Can I add a graduate certificate besides my main area of study?<\/h2>
<\/p>\n

Yes, by taking two of your elective courses and two additional courses in one of the following specialties (Enterprise Risk Management, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, or Applied Business Analytics), you can add a graduate certificate with a minimum of 12 courses (44 credits) in total. Please see individual program pages<\/a> for the specific certificate requirements.

Can I apply for an internship?<\/h2>
<\/p>\n

Yes, after two full semesters (e.g., spring 2024, if starting in spring 2023), you can enroll in a 1\u20132 credit internship course. This course will not reduce the total number of courses needed for the degree, but it will appear on your transcript. You are responsible for obtaining an offer letter from an employer. You will have a faculty member as a mentor in the internship course.<\/p>\n

Curricular Practical Training (CPT) is a type of employment\/internship authorization that is granted to qualifying international students in F-1 status.
