Using data to develop effective business strategies is an area of high demand in industry. A recent analysis by PwC determined that 67 percent of job openings requiring data science and analytics competencies are for “analytics-enabled” roles—positions integral to maintaining an edge in a competitive market, such as chief executive officer, chief data officer, director of IT, human resources manager, financial manager, and marketing manager. At the same time, there is a shortage of analytics-enabled personnel who combine expertise in their industry with the ability to understand and leverage big data.
To qualify for roles within in this skills gap, you must hone your ability to engage in predictive analytics and make data-informed business decisions. The Applied Business Analytics graduate programs at Boston University’s Metropolitan College (MET) provide an in-depth understanding of data analysis using Python and R, while immersing you in the concepts and techniques for organizing, cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing large amounts of data. Our hands-on approach to learning ensures that you gain expertise in the latest industry tools and approaches to databases, applied machine learning, and large dataset processing methods.
Additionally, we offer free access to two levels of hands-on analytics preparatory laboratories, where you can gain experience with cloud-based educational tools, software applications, and databases, along with pre-recorded internal and/or external tutorials, lectures, and video conferencing.
