Students are encouraged to apply in their junior year through the normal MS in Bioinformatics (MSBF) application.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bachelor\u2019s-to-Master\u2019s Programs are linked bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degree programs in which the two degrees are conferred sequentially. This Bachelor\u2019s-to-Master\u2019s Program allows students to apply a maximum of 8 units from their undergraduate degree toward the MSBF. The units applied toward the master\u2019s degree must be at the 500 level or above.<\/p>\n<p>Students must apply to Bachelor\u2019s-to-Master\u2019s Programs <em>before<\/em> the conferral of the bachelor\u2019s degree. Typically, students apply to the Bachelor\u2019s-to-Master\u2019s Program in Bioinformatics in their junior year via the <a href=\"https:\/\/bu-cds.liaisoncas.com\/applicant-ux\/#\/login\">normal application process<\/a>. Students in the Bachelor\u2019s-to-Master\u2019s Program in Bioinformatics must complete at least 24 units while enrolled as a graduate student. Students should consult with the Financial Assistance office to learn how entrance into the Bachelor\u2019s-to-Master\u2019s Program might impact their financial aid.<\/p>\n<h2>Program Requirements<\/h2>\n<p>This Bachelor\u2019s-to-Master\u2019s program requires a minimum of 152 units. Students may count 8 units from the BS (128 units) toward the MS (32 units). The requirements for the Bachelor\u2019s-to-Master\u2019s program are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/academics\/cds\/programs\/bs-in-data-science\/\">All CDS Data Science BS major requirements<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/academics\/cds\/programs\/ms-in-bioinformatics\/\">All CDS Bioinformatics MS requirements<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Students pursuing this program are encouraged to take ENG BF 527 (offered both semesters) and ENG BF 550 (offered in the fall) while enrolled as undergraduates, as the two courses that may count toward the MSBF.
