In keeping with this objective, students in GMS are encouraged to utilize the resources of Disability &amp; Access Services to the degree they determine necessary.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Theresa Davies, assistant dean for graduate affairs, serves as the liaison between GMS and the <u><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/disability\/\">Disability &amp; Access Services<\/a><\/u> office located on the Charles River Campus. Please contact her (<u><a href=\"mailto:tdavies@bu.edu\">tdavies@bu.edu<\/a><\/u> or 617-358-9546) with any disability and access services questions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Obtain Disability &amp; Access Services<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please complete the following steps to gain service.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contact the Assistant Dean for Graduate Affairs in GMS (<u><a href=\"mailto:tdavies@bu.edu\">tdavies@bu.edu<\/a><\/u>, 617-358-9546) and make a request to start the Disability &amp; Access Services process.<\/li>\n<li>Complete the BU DAS <u><a href=\"https:\/\/bu-accommodate.symplicity.com\/public_accommodation\/\">Intake Form<\/a><\/u>.<\/li>\n<li>Make an appointment with one of the DAS staff members on the Charles River Campus by calling 617-353-3658 or emailing <u><a href=\"mailto:access@bu.edu\">access@bu.edu<\/a><\/u>.<\/li>\n<li>Provide <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/disability\/services\/all-disabilities\/\">documentation<\/a> to Dr. Lorraine Wolf, director of Disability &amp; Access Services, in a scheduled meeting or by faxing (617-353-9646) or emailing (<a href=\"mailto:access@bu.edu\">access@bu.edu<\/a>) documents in advance.<\/li>\n<li>Following approval by the DAS and the Provost of the Medical Campus, Dean of <span>BU Chobanian &amp; Avedisian School of Medicine<\/span> (Dr. Karen Antman), the student will be notified of accommodations by GMS.<\/li>\n<li>Student completes the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/gms\/files\/2018\/08\/GMS-Accommodation-Release-Form_2018-19.v1.doc\">GMS Accommodation Release Form<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>GMS notifies Course Directors of the accommodation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>University Policy Graduate Medical Sciences Policy The goal of\u00a0Disability &amp; Access Services (DAS) is to provide services and support to ensure that students are able to access and participate in opportunities available at Boston University.
