Our students\u2019 voices are encouraged, nurtured, and challenged, and we have a positive impact on their artistry by incorporating them into a vibrant community of artists.<\/p>\n<p>We believe that our playwrights are writers on the world stage, so we encourage a scholarly outlook which allows for a background in theater history and drama. Furthermore, we believe that playwrights needn\u2019t work alone, so collaboration with actors, directors, and designers is at the heart of our degree program. We begin with the playwright and add collaborators into the mix as the plays grow, fostering a creative process that celebrates all the theater artists. In the third year of study, each student\u2019s play is fully produced in our Season of New Plays at Boston Playwrights\u2019 Theatre.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, all five of our incoming playwrights enjoy full tuition remissions, living stipends, and teaching fellowships during their first two years of study. We want our students to find their singular \u201cvoices\u201d as writers while we prepare them in all ways for a life in the professional theater and in academia.
