Students gain an understanding of how remote sensing is applied both scientifically and practically, and students gain hands-on experience analyzing spatial information using Geographic Information Systems (GIS). A minor in Environmental Remote Sensing &amp; GIS prepares students to work in a variety of environmental careers such as natural resource management and environmental conservation.<\/p>\n<h2>Requirements<\/h2>\n<p>The minor in Environmental Remote Sensing &amp; GIS consists of five courses as specified below. Students minoring in Environmental Remote Sensing &amp; GIS, through coursework, will ordinarily satisfy BU Hub requirements in Scientific Inquiry, Digital\/Media Expression, and Teamwork\/Collaboration. Up to two courses taken as part of a student\u2019s major requirements may be used to fulfill the requirements of the minor in Environmental Remote Sensing &amp; GIS.
