Pardee School of Global Studies<\/a> in the College of Arts &amp; Sciences, is available to students enrolled in any of BU\u2019s four-year undergraduate schools and colleges.<\/p>\n<p>Boston University\u2019s European Studies Program combines a unifying regional focus with a multidisciplinary approach, enabling students to bring together courses that develop their language skills; social, historical, and cultural knowledge; and political, economic, and international relations expertise. The six-course interdisciplinary minor draws on the resources of the College of Arts &amp; Sciences (CAS) and on Boston University Study Abroad programs in Europe. Students study Europe&#8217;s cultural heritage; its political, economic, military, and religious histories; its literature, music, film, and philosophy; as well as its emergence and development as a new kind of international form through the European Union.<\/p>\n<h2>Requirements<\/h2>\n<p>Students minoring in European Studies select six 4-unit courses from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/academics\/cas\/programs\/european-studies\/ba\/\">the lists as maintained on the <span>Bulletin page for the BA in European <\/span>Studies<\/a>, including at least two in the Humanities, at least two in the Social Sciences, and a multidisciplinary capstone course normally taken in the senior year.<\/p>\n<p>A grade of C or higher must be obtained in all courses. No more than three of the courses applied toward the minor may focus on a single country. Two courses from the Middle Ages and early modern period may substitute with advisor permission.<\/p>\n<h3>Required Related Language Courses<\/h3>\n<p>Students minoring in European Studies must complete five terms of a European language other than English or demonstrate equivalent proficiency.<\/p>\n<h3>Study Abroad<\/h3>\n<p>Study in Europe through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/academics\/cas\/programs\/study-abroad-and-internship-programs\/\">Boston University\u2019s Study Abroad and Internship Programs<\/a> is encouraged.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The minor in European Studies, offered by the Frederick S.
