The cohort experience is only available for students entering the program in the fall semester and enhances the role of teams and continuity of content between courses. Students are automatically enrolled in two courses for the fall term, three courses for the spring term, and one course during the first summer session. After the cohorted course sequence, students are responsible for registering themselves for courses.

Students must follow the prescribed curriculum to remain in the cohort. If a student has received an Advanced Standing Course Waiver in one of the fall cohort courses, an academic advisor will register the student for an alternative course. For waivers in subsequent semester cohort courses, the student is responsible for registering for any alternative courses not in the cohort sequence.

Since cohorted students take five of their core courses before their electives, it is important to build a relationship with your MBA Center advisor to plan out the best elective program to fit your professional goals.

Cohort Course Sequence (15.5 units)

Fall Y1 (6 units)

QST AC 711 Financial Reporting and Control (3 units)

QST MO 712 Leading Organizations and People (3 units)

Spring Y1 (6.5 units)

QST BE 721 Economics and Management Decisions (3 units)

QST ES 740 Leadership Communication (2 units)

QST MG 730 Ethics (1.5 units)

Summer Y1 (3 units)

QST QM 717 Data Analysis for Managerial Decision-Making (3 units)

Flex Part-Time MBA—55 units

We strongly advise that all Part-Time MBA students follow the sequence of courses presented on the curriculum map, as it promotes the program’s goals.
