Since 1965, the mission of <\/span>Metropolitan College (MET)<\/strong> has been to broaden the reach of Boston University. As a laboratory and incubator for new programs, pedagogy, and educational technologies, MET serves as a bridge from BU to the world, ensuring that the resources of a leading research university are accessible to a global community of lifelong learners via flexible, part-time and full-time study during the evening on campus and through innovative online and blended formats. <\/span><\/p>\n

One of Boston University\u2019s degree-granting schools and colleges, BU MET offers a wide range of graduate and undergraduate degree and certificate programs led by faculty who combine firsthand industry expertise with relevant scholarly research. Curricula are kept up-to-date, anticipating and reflecting areas of innovation and high growth in industry, helping to close skills gaps, and providing students and working adults with opportunities to advance in their careers and build networks with classmates and industry peers.<\/p>\n

Programs<\/h2>\n

There are more than 80 undergraduate and graduate degree and certificate programs<\/a> available at BU\u2019s Metropolitan College, along with hundreds of individual courses\u2014all designed for the student who seeks flexible, part-time and full-time study options in the evening on campus, fully online<\/a>, or in\u00a0blended formats.<\/p>\n

Accreditation<\/h2>\n

Boston University is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE<\/a>), one of six nationally recognized accrediting agencies, and is an accredited member of AACSB International<\/a>\u2015the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.<\/p>\n

In addition, the college\u2019s MS in Computer Information Systems (IT Project Management concentration) and the MS in Project Management are accredited by the Project Management Institute (PMI) Global Accreditation Center for Project Management Education Programs (GAC<\/a>). The MS programs in Health Informatics and Computer Information Systems (Health Informatics concentration) are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Boston University is recognized by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security as a Center of Academic Excellence (CAE) in Cyber Defense and Research<\/a>.
