A librarian is assigned to the school to assist students.<\/p>\n<h3>Social Work Career Services<\/h3>\n<p>To assist students and graduates with employment information, the school offers social work career resources in conjunction with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/careers\/\" data-gc-link=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/careers\/\">Boston University Center for Career Development<\/a>. Included are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">A website with job information and links to social work employment sites<\/li>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">Skill-based workshops<\/li>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">Access to a network of graduates willing to serve as career consultants<\/li>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">Social work license exam study guides<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>More information is available at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/ssw\/students\/current\/career\/\" data-gc-link=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/ssw\/careers\/career-services\/\">Career Resources<\/a> page.<\/p>\n<p><span>Alumni and students also have access to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/alumni\/career\/buconnects\/\">BU Connects<\/a><\/span><span>,<\/span> <span>a platform <\/span><span>built <\/span><span>exclusively for Boston University alumni, students, faculty, and staff that brings Terriers together for networking on a global scale.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>As a member of BU Connects, alumni have access to a suite of networking tools and career resources.<\/span><span> Integrated with LinkedIn, BU Connects is exclusive and secure, allowing members to do all of their BU personal and professional networking in a single digital environment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>BU Connects features an integration with Handshake, the University\u2019s career-management system and job board. The most recent jobs and internships posted to Handshake will appear in BU Connects.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Students of Color<\/h3>\n<p>Boston University\u2019s ethnically diverse community includes African American\/Black, Indigenous, and Persons of Color (BIPOC) students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.<\/p>\n<p>The School of Social Work actively recruits BIPOC students, and special programs are designed to reach out to interested individuals. Student members participate in the local chapter\u2019s activities and receive national and local publications.<\/p>\n<h3>Alumni Association<\/h3>\n<p>The School of Social Work is strengthened by the participation of its alumni in numerous activities. The Alumni Association of the School of Social Work comprises more than 10,000 people from across the United States and throughout the world.<\/p>\n<p>The school\u2019s alumni relations program connects with graduates in many areas, including speaking opportunities with current and prospective students, student mentoring opportunities, a student recruitment program, regional networking activities, and alumni giving campaigns.<\/p>\n<p>Ongoing communication with graduates is maintained through the publication of an e-newsletter and other ongoing outreach. Over the years, the Alumni Association has held award ceremonies that \u00adrecognize the special contributions of alumni, faculty, staff, and others.
