Dual JD/LLM in European Law at Paris 2

Through this program abroad, third-year students have the opportunity to receive both the JD degree from BU Law and an LLM in European Law from the Panthéon-Assas University Paris 2 in Paris, one of the world’s foremost law schools. Students in the program complete a full year of study (fall and spring semesters) at Paris 2. Originally part of the Sorbonne Law School, Paris 2 is renowned for its excellence in international and comparative law. This program is available only to qualified third-year students, and instruction is offered entirely in English.

Program Requirements

To be eligible for the program, BU Law students will need to complete four semesters of residency, as well as complete their upper-class writing, professional responsibility, and practical skills requirements prior to departure. There are no prerequisites for the program. Students who complete this program are awarded 26 credits toward their JD: 24 credits for two semesters of full-time coursework, plus a 2-credit independent paper supervised by a BU Law professor.

Admissions Procedure

Formal admissions to the program are processed through the Graduate & International Programs office at the School of Law. Students apply during the spring semester for programs in the upcoming academic year.
