Cooperative Education Program

The Cooperative Education Program is a unique educational option offered in the College of Engineering. It is a selective program designed to integrate academic study with practical experience in industry, business, or government.

While on cooperative education assignments, students suspend coursework and work under the supervision of a qualified professional. Co-op placements vary in length, from 3 to 12 months, depending on the academic term(s) they coincide with. Occasionally, part-time co-op assignments are available with Boston-area companies, often as continuations of full-time co-op placements.

Students are encouraged to begin the planning process in the fall semester of sophomore year to assure smooth integration with coursework. Participation in the co-op program may delay a student’s graduation date.
