Declaring or Changing a Major or Minor

College of Engineering Policy

To ensure that each student is well advised in electing a major (or advisor) and to ensure that all faculty and administrative offices concerned are properly informed, it is important that students submit a Declaration or Change of Major/Advisor Form through the Undergraduate Programs office.

All students who do not have a declared major on record must declare a major before registering for the junior year.

Students must declare their intent to complete a concentration. The Declaration of Concentration form should be submitted as early as possible, and in no case later than May 1 of the junior year in order to facilitate both course planning and planning the Experiential Component of the concentration. Declaration of Concentration Forms should be submitted to the Undergraduate Programs office.

Students planning to pursue a minor should apply as early as possible to facilitate course planning, and in no case later than October 1 of the senior year. Applications for minors should be submitted to the Undergraduate Programs office.
