Center for English Language & Orientation Programs

Since it was founded in 1975, the core of CELOP’s mission has been to help international students and professionals succeed in their academic and work lives. CELOP’s highly qualified and trained teachers and staff are committed to providing students the tools they need to succeed.

CELOP students regularly meet their English language goals and go on to study at universities and colleges throughout the United States. In the past five years, CELOP students have been accepted into 32 of the top 50 nationally ranked colleges and universities. Students leave CELOP with advanced English language skills and are prepared for the demands of a US university education or improved success in their career using English.

CELOP students succeed because:

  • they learn in small classes with talented and experienced Boston University teachers;
  • they can design an English program to meet their individual needs;
  • they live a rich cultural and social life in the great city of Boston; and
  • they can live, study, and get engaged on Boston University’s exciting campus.

Students leave CELOP with more confidence and the language skills and cultural awareness they need to succeed.

CELOP is a part of Boston University’s Global Programs office, and we work closely with other academic and administrative units on campus to further enrich the experience of our students while in Boston at Boston University.
