Cocurricular: Gender, Identity, and Education
HUB CC 122
Students draw on readings, personal reflection, and group discussion to explore the impact of gender on educational opportunities, experiences, and outcomes in the United States. Classroom practices, school rituals, expectations for behavior and disciplinary actions, social organizations, and extra-curricular choices are examined. In addition, students consider the ways gender intersects with race, class, and sexual orientation to shape students' identities. Effective Spring 2019, this Hub cocurricular fulfills a single unit in the following BU Hub area: The Individual in Community.
