• GRS EC 782: Health Economics 2
  Applies theory and econometrics to health topics, including demand and supply, imperfect information, plan-level competition, provider payment, risk adjustment, big data sets, behavioral economics, altruism and health care systems in developed and developing countries. Complements GRS EC 781.
• GRS EC 791: International Trade
  Theories and empirical analysis of international trade. Comparative advantage-based neoclassical theory and new trade theory. Quantitative heterogeneous firms models. Empirics of firm-level trade patterns. Multinational production and other forms of globalization: vertical specialization, outsourcing, offshoring.
• GRS EC 792: International Finance
  Theory and empirical analysis of problems in open economy macroeconomics and finance. Topics include dynamic macroeconomic models of open economies; international asset pricing; models of exchange rate determination; international risk sharing; sovereign debt and default.
• GRS EC 794: Financial Econometrics
  Presents econometric theory and methods for the analysis of financial markets. Topics include cross section and time series properties of asset returns, parametric and nonparametric volatility measurement, implied volatility, estimation of asset pricing models, continuous time models, systemic risk, and model uncertainty.

• GRS EE 764: Urban Biogeoscience and Environmental Health Colloquium
  Introduction to the fields of Biogeoscience and Environmental Health. Through weekly reading, discussions, and research presentations, students acquire a basic foundation in urban Biogeoscience and Environmental Health.
• GRS EE 765: Urban Biogeoscience and Environmental Health Applied Research Methods
  Graduate students work in groups on real-world environmental challenges related to urban Biogeoscience and Environmental Health. Students use applied research methods in collaboration with stakeholders from cities on issues related to air, soil, and/or water quality, environmental stressors, nutrient cycles, and climate.
• GRS EE 795: Urban Biogeoscience and Environmental Health: From Research to Policy
  Students have to meet with the instructor prior to the start of the course to set up an internship with a partner organization. For international students seeking credit for academic advancement the internship must be authorized by the International Students & Scholars Office. Students who are not part of the BU Graduate Program in Urban Biogeoscience and Environmental Health should contact the instructor prior to enrolling to determine if their background and interests are consistent with the course. Students learn how cities utilize scientific findings to address urban environmental challenges and develop communication skills to effectively translate scientific results to decision-makers and the public. Students complete a semester-long internship to gain experience applying scientific knowledge to decision making.
• GRS EI 701: The Theory and Practice of Literary Editing
  An introduction to the theory, practice, and principles of editorial decisions, such as questions of modernization, revision, and annotation. Featuring a dozen visiting speakers and attending to notable editorial achievements.
• GRS EI 802: Advanced Topics in Editing: Word and Image
  An historical and critical description of the relation between printed text and forms of illustration in selected works dating from 1500 to the present day.
