• OTP NS 102: Marine Engineering Systems I
  Fundamentals of applied shipboard engineering principles and systems. Topics: thermodynamics, electrical theory, fundamentals of nuclear power, propulsion systems, electrical distribution, ship stability and control, and damage control.
• OTP NS 201: Nav Ship Sys

• OTP NS 202: US History and Seapower
  A historical study of the US Navy from the American Revolution to the modern era. Traces the US Navy's rise from a coastal defense force into the world's premier naval power. Major themes include wars, events, people, technology, strategy, tactics, and diplomacy that shaped naval history and America's role in the world.
• OTP NS 301: Navigation
  Fundamentals of marine navigation, electronic navigation, relative motion, and nautical "rules of the road." Overview of tools of the modern naval watch officer taught in a simulation-based computer classroom.
• OTP NS 302: Naval Operations and Seamanship
  A capstone course for senior midshipmen in advanced navigation, communications, naval operations, and naval warfare. Students learn through simulation in a computer classroom.
• OTP NS 330: Evolution of Warfare
  Traces development of warfare from dawn of recorded history to present, focusing on the impact of major military theorists, strategists, tacticians, and technological developments. Seeks to understand the relationships between military training, weaponry, strategies and tactics, and the societies and cultures that produce and then are defended by those military structures. By examining the association between a society and its military, students acquire basic sense of strategy, develop an understanding of military alternatives, and see the impact of historical precedents on military thoughts and actions.
• OTP NS 401: Ldrship/Mgmt 1

• OTP NS 402: Leadership and Ethics
  Analyzes ethical decision-making and leadership principles. Students read and discuss texts written by such philosophers as Aristotle, Kant, and Mill to gain familiarity with the realm of ethical theory. Students then move on to case studies in which they apply these theories to resolve moral dilemmas. Provides a basic background in the duties and responsibilities of the junior division and watch officer; strong emphasis on the junior officer's responsibilities in training, counseling, and career development. Student familiarization with equal opportunity and drug/alcohol rehabilitation programs. Principles of leadership reinforced through leadership case studies.
• OTP NS 410: Amphibious Warfare
  Introduction to fundamental concepts and history of amphibious warfare, from the classical period to the present day. Emphasis is placed on analytical study and critical thought rather than memorization of historical facts. Students will trace the evolution of amphibious warfare through analysis of case studies using amphibious and maneuver doctrine as a framework. By the end of this course, students will comprehend modern employment concepts and challenges relating to the use of amphibious forces.
