Students are enrolled in a course equivalent to CAS LF 111 through the 300-level and will receive the appropriate Hub requirements. CAS LF 111, LF 112, and LF 211 all fulfill a single Hub requirement in <em>Individual in Community<\/em>, while CAS LF 212 and beyond fulfill Hub requirements in both <em>Individual in Community<\/em> and <em>Global Citizenship and Intercultural Literacy<\/em>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Units:<\/strong> 4<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container course hub\" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\" style=\"overflow: hidden;\">\n<h6 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\" role=\"button\" style=\"cursor: pointer;\" tabindex=\"0\"><span class=\"course-code\">CAS LF 299<\/span><br><span class=\"course-title\">Approaches to Contemporary French Society and Culture<\/span><\/h6>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\">\n<p>An interdisciplinary approach from the social sciences, particularly cultural anthropology, to explore intercultural issues and cultural theory in the contemporary context of globalization. Second-order equations and first-order systems. Linear equations and linearization. Numerical and qualitative analysis. Laplace transforms. Applications and modeling of real phenomena throughout. Principles of cell and molecular biology and biochemistry emphasizing biomolecules, the flow of genetic information, cell structure and function, and cell regulation.
