These opportunities vary from term to term, but may include a study tour, intensive beginning Arabic language program, or an Ulpan (intensive Hebrew language program).\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:abroad@bu.edu\">Contact us<\/a>\u00a0for more information on these pre-term options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Required Courses<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Students enroll in the University of Haifa&#8217;s International School. Generally, each student takes four courses (ranging from three to six units each) during the regular term: a course in Hebrew or Arabic language, a course related to the culture or history of Israel and the Middle East, and courses in the student&#8217;s area of interest in the general liberal arts curriculum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Required Course List<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4>Subject areas include:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Communications<\/li><li>Education<\/li><li>Hebrew and Arabic Language<\/li><li>History<\/li><li>Law<\/li><li>Linguistics<\/li><li>Literature<\/li><li>Middle East Studies<\/li><li>Peace and Conflict Studies<\/li><li>Political Science<\/li><li>Psychology<\/li><li>Religious Studies<\/li><li>Sociology<\/li><li>Women&#8217;s Studies<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Students may also enroll in the Department of English Language &amp; Literature, and art majors may enroll in the Department of Fine Arts. Students with sufficient Hebrew skills are encouraged to enroll directly in the regular courses offered at the University of Haifa.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Course offerings are subject to change.
