The BU Study Abroad Ambassador Program is an opportunity to share your global perspectives and study abroad stories, raise awareness and interest in study abroad programs and inspire your peers to engage in diverse and inclusive cross-cultural experiences worldwide.
Your time as an Ambassador may begin on-site during your time away or on-campus once you have returned from your semester away. Ambassadors that begin on-site will show students what it’s like to study abroad from their point of view. On-site ambassadors will help encourage students to study abroad through social media takeovers, answering student questions, providing helpful tips, and working with site staff to promote the program through social media campaigns and on-site student events. Your outreach efforts will continue once you return to campus. Ambassadors on campus will share their experiences with other students through various outreach methods and become a study abroad leader on campus.
By serving as a BU Study Abroad Ambassador, you will reflect on your time abroad in a meaningful way while developing concrete skills to articulate the value of your global experience in your personal, professional, and academic endeavors.
Everyone is encouraged to apply to be a study abroad ambassador, including BU students and visiting students from our partner institutions. Diversity in our ambassador program is a top priority, as we want all students to see that study abroad is truly for everyone. We encourage students of all genders, races, national origins, abilities, religions, sexualities, majors, and program locations to apply. We want the study abroad ambassador program to represent, as best as possible, the overall community at BU and our partner institutions to help prospective students see themselves reflected in our Ambassadors.
