Allegra Goodman - Fiction


Allegra Goodman is the author of three novels: New York Times best seller, Intuition, National Book Award finalist, Kaaterksill Falls, and Paradise Park. She has also published two collections of short stories: The Family Markowitz and Total Immersion. Her fiction has appeared in The New Yorker, Commentary, and Ploughshares. Her essays and reviews have appeared in The New York Times Book Review and The American Scholar. She has received the Whiting Writer's Award, the Salon magazine award for fiction, and a fellowship from the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study. Raised in Honolulu, she studied English and philosophy at Harvard and earned a Ph.D. in English from Stanford, where she wrote her dissertation about Samuel Johnson's edition of Shakespeare. Her new novel, The Other Side of the Island, will be published in 2008.
