Welcome to 236
A JOURNAL OF LITERARY WORK BY THE FACULTY AND ALUMNI OF BOSTON UNIVERSITY’S GRADUATE CREATIVE WRITING PROGRAM

Welcome to 236, the literary journal for faculty and alumni of Boston University’s Graduate Creative Writing Program. We're quite proud of the group of authors we've put together in this issue, and we hope you'll enjoy reading them as much as we did. We’ll be publishing new issues every six months, in June and December of each year.
Remember that we need you to participate. Send us your poems, stories and plays; we're interested in what you've been up to since graduation. Everyone who has attended the program is eligible, including current graduate students. So send us your best work--previously published work is fine, as long as you've retained the rights. We'd like to keep the format as loose as possible, so there is no maximum or minimum length of submissions. We have received excellent examples at both ends of the spectrum, from 500-word stories to long-form poems, a trend we would like to encourage in any way we can. We're also looking for thoughtful, analytical book reviews and essays on just about any subject. Send all submissions to crwr@bu.edu.
Finally, We’d like to ask all of our alumni to stay in touch. Your successes matter to us. We invite you to visit the "News" page on the 236 site from time to time. We are currently compiling our alumni list. Please let us know if we’ve left you out, or if you have publications, awards or other details you would like us to add to your entry. Also, we’re happy to add links to your web pages, insofar as they are writing-related. If you have a page you’d like us to link to, please contact us with the URL and we will add the link.
Best wishes,
The Editorial Board, 236
