Boston Area Pedagogy Conference
An Inter-Institutional Dialogue on Teaching of Languages, Literatures, Cultures, and Cinema
Friday, March 22, 2019
at Boston University
The Department of World Languages & Literatures (WLL) at Boston University, with support from BU Center for Humanities and the Geddes Language Center, Institute for the Study of Muslim Cultures and Civilizations, and Center for Teaching and Learning, hosted the Boston Area Pedagogy Conference held on Friday, March 22, 2019, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM at the BU School of Theology, B23-24, 745 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston MA 02215.
Inspired by the inter-departmental success of its last two annual pedagogy symposia (held in March 2017 and 2018), WLL hoped to extend the dialogue on pedagogy to institutions in the Boston Area Consortia this year, and through this conference offer opportunities for us and our colleagues to reflect on, share, and showcase different teaching approaches and practices as well as discover untapped reserves of cross-departmental and inter-institutional potential for future collaboration. With this aim, we invited colleagues working in languages, literatures, cultures, and cinema studies to submit proposals for individual 15-minute papers and 60-minute full panel presentations.
