BU Wheelock’s Master of Science in Child Life & Family-Centered Care is the first graduate program to ever receive endorsement from the Association of Child Life Professionals, the major professional organization serving child life professionals.
The Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP) has officially endorsed Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development’s graduate program in Child Life & Family Centered Care. This is the first endorsement the ACLP has awarded to a graduate program.
The ACLP defines it’s endorsement as “an assurance that a program meets the standards and requirements set forth in the Standards for Academic and Clinical Preparation Programs.” BU Wheelock’s was the first graduate program to be invited to apply for endorsement, which was awarded in September of 2018 and extends through October of 2023.
Program co-directors and faculty contributed to the endorsement process. Commenting on the outcome, Child Life Program Co-Director Claire White noted, “This seems only fitting as our program was the first academic program in the country. Endorsement is a guarantee to child life students that out program provides a high-quality graduate experience.”
